Interactive Training Phase a Success!
This past month we visited Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Iqaluit to launch our first delivery of the CCE interactive training program on youth engagement strategies. Local health promotion intermediaries participated in a full day of education and activities filled with constructive dialogue and learning while discussing the very important issues of youth engagement and drug prevention. The workshop was offered at no cost to participants and was sponsored through grants from the Health Canada Drug Strategy Community Initiatives Fund, and a title grant from PharmaScience, which is one of two Canadian-owned generic pharmaceutical companies in Canada and is the third largest pharmaceutical firm in Canada in terms of the number of prescriptions. The response received was beyond what we imagined. We learned from the participants as much as they did from us. We gained knowledge and developed a better understanding of the communities we will be reaching. It is with this strong connection to the community that we hope our program to be such a great success.
